Finding Something REAL Ministries, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, exists to share the truth and love of Jesus Christ with young women (and beyond). We believe lives are changed when young women are welcomed into compassionate spaces where the gospel is central, hospitality is generous, and conversations are real.
Our ministry is focused on
1. building and investing in intentional cohorts of young women from various backgrounds,
2. creating online space and a weekly podcast where we explore spiritual questions and answers from a historical Christian perspective, and
3. hosting in-person gatherings including small retreats and larger outreach events.

Each season features a cohort of young women from diverse backgrounds who serve as co-hosts, bringing real and unfiltered questions about identity, doubt, cultural pressures, relationships, church hurt, and what it means to follow Jesus today. Rather than scripted teaching, episodes center on authentic dialogue. Young women voice their honest questions, and seasoned Christian guests join us to offer thoughtful, faith-rooted responses.

Finding Something REAL starts with a group of diverse young women (18–25ish) from all different backgrounds who come together to ask honest questions about life, identity, and God.
It starts with a fully hosted retreat near Chelan, WA: a few days to step away, connect, laugh, and be real. No pressure. No scripts. You share your story only if you want to.
The host, Janell Wood, believes Jesus is where we find what’s truly real—restoration, eternity, authenticity, and love. She won’t force that belief on anyone. Instead, she creates a space where you can question, dialogue, or completely disagree openly. And it turns out, when people are honest, it doesn’t just change them. It helps everyone listening understand each other better. It builds bridges in a world that’s pretty divided. If you’re curious but cautious… Open but not convinced? This might be just the experience for you.
